A beautiful pair of George III Neo Classical Salt Cellars made in London in 1772 by Robert Hennell.

The Salt Cellars stand on four claw and ball feet and are of oval form, the rim decorated with gadrooning. The sides are pierced with Neo Gothic designs and are decorated with applied blue-bell swags and raised Classical flower head medallions. The front displays an oval cartouche engraved with a contemporary Crest and both have their original blue glass liners, with star cut bases. The base of each also shows a full set of hallmarks
