An exceptionally rare William IV "Lily Pad" Toast Rack made in Birmingham in 1833 by Joseph Willmore.

This very rare piece is cast and modelled in the naturalistic tradition. The base of the toast rack, and the divisions, are beautifully modelled as lily pads, with naturalistic branch, handle, feet and stems. The quality of design and detail is quite exceptional. This piece is in excellent condition and is fully marked on the handle. During the Georgian period Birmingham specialised in small wares such as caddy spoons, boxes and wine labels. To find a larger piece of table silver is very rare indeed. This, again, was sold by us some years ago and we are very happy to offer it again.
